The first version of these slides was prepared for me by a generous ‘technology translator’ of Russian origin. I have observed before how Russians ‘got’ what I have to offer and I have long been intrigued by the effects that language has on our thinking.
Now I am preparing documentation for a colleague who is spending a lot of time in Qatar. Thus I have the opportunity to pay reverence to what I found out about the Arabic language:
- it has not only given Arab numerals to human culture
- it also translates light and sound best as it is based on ‘harmonic’ numerical principles.
But I will only be able to reveal this understanding of number, once my company has made enough of a difference in the world. That’s why I have been quiet in my disquiet, active in my social life with meaning, while hitting my head against Western walls in my professional life with zest.
However, Hermann Hesse said in poetry what I keep remembering: The Life I Chose Myself to Live.
